ISDN-J FAQ
Please note that the ISDN-J FAQ has not been updated since October 1998 and there are no plans for future updates.
The ISDN-J FAQ is the result of my investigations into NTT's ISDN services, in particular INS-Net 64, a BRI (Basic Rate Interface) for home and small office applications. Having successfully upgraded both home and office telephone lines, I'm now happily surfing the World Wide Web with a lot less wait. Friends and relatives are happy as well, because now they can now call me even while I'm surfing. If you're considering making the change, don't be put off by ISDN horror stories from the United States. Thanks to NTT ISDN installation and configuration is relatively easy, and unlike many of the alternatives ISDN is here now and it works!
Things change quickly in the telecommunications world, so I recommend that you confirm services and charges mentioned in the ISDN-J FAQ before "opening your wallet."
Special thanks to Ms Yamamoto, Mr Honda at InfoPage, John De Hoog, Keith Wilkinson, Ruth South McCreery, Maynard Hogg, Richard Sadowsky, Julian, David A. Lai for the Icon Paradise book, and Pat Willener for his NEC Aterm IT65ProDSU Setup.
